Ryan Metzler (producer): Ryan is a sophomore at Occidental College, planning to double major in Sociology and Media Arts and Culture. A lifelong sports fan, he runs track for Occidental and plays on the school’s rugby team. Choosing the sunny L.A. weather over his Dublin, Pennsylvania home base, Ryan hopes to pursue a career as a producer in the Los Angeles film industry after graduation.
Veronica Pinkham (director/co-producer/sound designer/co-editor): Veronica is a native to the L.A. area, growing up in the South Bay beach city of El Segundo. Since attending screenings at El Segundo’s Old Town Music Hall silent theatre as a kid, she’s developed a keen interest in filmmaking. After creating news segments for community cable in high school, Veronica has gravitated towards non-fiction film. With a love for documentary filmmaking and a curiosity for gender studies, Cutting Up is a combination of her passions.
Kyle Scoble (cinematographer/gaffer/sound recordist): Kyle, an avid photographer, is also interested in social media communication. He is the founder of the Occidental College Photography Club and a new online magazine publication focusing on L.A. arts and culture, called Cardinal Point West. He has produced documentary material for KCET Departures, the online branch of the independent public television channel KCET. Kyle would like to continue pursuing his interest in documentary and experimental cinema.
Zack Windheim (additional cinematography/co-editor): Zack is an independent media maker with a background in researching Web 2.0 communities, editing documentary for local TV, and screenwriting short films. His thesis film, Webbed, explores the social impact of YouTube with a humorous story about two rival video bloggers. It will be completed in Spring 2012 within the Media Arts and Culture program at Occidental College.
